BurnAware Professional

Despite the increasing popularity of USB flash drives, optical discs are not obsolete yet. They are still useful for distributing movies, software, games and other digital contents. They are also helpful if you want to back up important files, because the burnt data will never get corrupted or infected with a virus. BurnAware Professional gives you the possibility of performing various operations with optical discs, from simply burning files on a CD to creating video DVDs or recovering lost data. What's more, the software is much easier to use than other disc burners on the market.

The program is compatible with multiple Windows versions, from Win Xp up to Win 8. It can be installed in a few moments and you don't have to sacrifice too many resources or meet any special requirements. Besides the Professional version, BurnAware is also available in a Premium edition, which is cheaper, as well as a free version. Although the paid versions are free to try for 10 days, their trial versions are fully functional, so you can test them without any limitations.

When launched, BurnAware Professional will display a compact panel, from which you can run various utilities, by clicking their corresponding icons. They are categorized on separate lines, based on file types. You can find tools for burning any kind of data, for burning multimedia files, burning or creating disc images and you can also find a few miscellaneous tools. Most icons will bring up a similar user interface, with only a few differences, depending on what kind of data you intend to burn.

The aforementioned interface consists of two panels, which display your local files and the files destined for the optical disc. All you have to do is click and drag your files or folders from one panel to the other and click a large red button, located in the lower right corner of the window, and the program will start burning the data right away. Additionally, you can choose a different writing speed, select another drive and set the application to write on a CD, DVD or on a Blu-ray disc, with different sizes.

Besides burning files and creating Video DVDs, audio or MP3 CDs, you can also work with disc images. The software allows you to burn existing images on a disc and create new ones with local files or by copying a disc. It is also possible to load and edit a multi-burn disc image and to create a boot ISO. BurnAware Professional's miscellaneous tools can be used to erase re-writable discs, to gather information about the inserted disc, copying or verifying its contents and to recover lost files.
